HOWARD KURTZ: Don’t you feel deep down that this is overdoing it?
DON LEMON, CNN ANCHOR: No, I don’t feel it’s overdoing it. And I don’t — and when I hear people say that, I have to be very honest with you, Howie, I think it’s elitist. I don’t remember — I’m sure there was some criticism when there was the coverage of Princess Diana’s death, but I don’t think that there was this sort of criticism that we’re having with Michael Jackson.     

Michael Jackson is an accidental civil rights leader, an accidental pioneer. He broke ground and barriers in so many different realms in artistry, in pictures, in movies, in music, you name it. So, no, I don’t think it’s overkill.     

KURTZ: Okay. He did all of those things. He also was accused of child molestation, and was a seriously weird person. But he has been dead for more than a week and we are still going almost wall-to-wall.

……ooooo-kay, um and this means that we should completly over-look 40 years of musical achievments and milestones because he think he is wierd?     

Soooooo……. is he saying that all of his hardwork and dedication to the music industry and his humanitarian work should be ignored because  of some greedy father forced his son,with the use of drugs, to make a disgusting lie about Michael Jackson?     

I’m sorry i don’t comprehend because i don’t speak retarded.     

…..OKAY, BACK TO THE INTERVIEW     

LEMON: Well, he has been dead for more than a week, yes, but Michael Jackson twice — well, once, I should say, he was acquitted of child molestation. The other time it was settled out of court.     

KURTZ: Right.     

LEMON: And if you talk to people who were involved in those cases, they don’t believe that he did it. So let’s put that aside.

Let me just say that I am proud of you for making your point and being so classy about it.It’s really hard to stay classy when you’re dealing with a blatant Michael Jackson hater.      

I remember hearing these complaints from several people-on television and in real life. But I always ask myself, what if Elvis died last year? Would they be complaining about the media coverage? Or what about Paul McCartney?     

It was shocking to me how people didn’t understand the importance or value in Michael Jackson’s life an career. It was annoying how people talked about his death as just another celebrity when he is really a historical figure.     

Howard Kurtz  is the personification of ignorance and what it means to be narrow minded.I think it was unfair how people even penalized Michael Jackson for the day he died. What i mean by this is a lot of people were upset by the fact that they couldn’t find out what was going on in IRAN….completly understandable and important, but don’t get mad at Michael Jackson because he just so happened to die on that day.                                                                                                                                                  

That would just make you sound like a complete A-hole.     

COMMON RETARDED PHRASES

“BUT HE’S WIERD!”     

“BUT HE HAD PLASTIC SURGERY!”     

“BUT HE WAS A CHILD MOLESTOR!”     

“WHATS SO GREAT ABOUT MICHAEL JACKSON?!”     

*These are the common ignorant phrases that comes to mind when I think of the complaints towards Michael Jackson.     

It’s so sad and hurtful that Michael Jackson has done so much for the world(philanthropy, activism, music, dance, and hunger/famine) and this is what his legacy has been reduced to in the eyes of 50% of the American population.     

They’re all ridiculous and could be addressed with key facts. (maybe in another blog..lol)     

On the flipside,

i do think the media coverage was another oppurtunity to exploit Michael Jackson and not respect him. I wish they would just let him leave in peace, and not a big mess.

Rumours started flying everywhere and things were being revealed that were really no ones business. They started talking about plastic surgery all over again (like thats a new topic or something), his children, Joe Jackson child abuse, and tell me why they were talking about the description of Michael Jackson’s penis on Nancy Grace? I’m sorry I just missed the relevancy of that.     

We just needed these key facts.     

• The autopsy report
• Where he was being burried
• Who was getting custody of the kids.

THATS IT!     

In closing, I will never forget those 5 months of crazy Michael Jackson media coverage, just like I will never forget the years of music and memories.
